THE NEXT GREAT DEBATE: TOPICS AND DEBATERS

FRIENDS. NOW IS YOUR TIME.

We want topic suggestions and new debaters for our Next Great Debate. Do you have a hot topic itch-itch-itching to get out and be debated by Sydney’s most sensational, scorching and irrational debaters? Are you wanting to throw your hat into Serial Space’s ring of oratory fire?

If so, then email us at serialspacegallery@gmail.com with either TOPIC or DEBATER in the subject heading. If you are suggesting a topic then please write a small description of the topic, possible statement that could be debated and the reason why this topic needs to be debated. If you are applying to debate please write a small description of your oratory and debating skills, interests, contact details and reason why you would want to participate in Serial Space’s great debating program. Alternatively - If you are technically inclined - we will also accept links to uploaded videos where you can argue your case to debate in a 1-minute application.

The Next Great Debate will take place in late August so we would need to finalise the topic by mid-July and the debaters by early-August.

WORKSHOP APPLICATIONS

Over this upcoming year Serial Space will facilitate a series of 10 workshops open to anyone to participate without charge. We are looking for people to host these workshops to share their skills, expertise and experience. The topics covered by the workshops are open to suggestion: excite and inspire us! Workshops can cover anything from software based music, movement, electronic hardware modification, bicycle maintenance, costume designing, guitar pedal construction or comedic training. Workshop facilitators will be provided a fee of $100 and are usually scheduled for the first Sunday of every month.

Applications should include a 2-page application that includes a 1-page CV and a 1-page description of the intended workshop which includes potential dates of the workshops, the length of the workshop, any equipment required and the limit of attendants.
